Renishaw are a global, work leading metrology and healthcare technology group and needed a handling solution for their new Additive Manufacturing Machine, the RenAM 500S/Q Flex, in order to remove the manual handling requirements that would otherwise be present for their users during machine operation.

Lily Dixon, Renishaw’s Additive Manufacturing Groups Project Manager said ‘We worked with Wilmat to design a specialised attachment for their core 207 Lifter which allows the lifter to complete both customer tasks such as loading powder into the machine as well as service tasks including both maintenance and repair. It will be an all-round tool which is essential for the H&S of our users’

Lily went on to say ‘we have worked with Wilmat to create bespoke lifters for our previous product lines. This new lifter and attachment is the most involved design we have collaborated with Wilmat on so far and it now replaces all the functionality of our previous lifters supplied by Wilmat into a single universal unit.   We have found Wilmat to be very helpful, easy to work with and they will do everything they can to meet our exacting requirements, including very tight timescales! Great quality lifters!’

Marie Lacey, Renishaw’s Account Manager said ‘it was a great pleasure to work with the Renishaw team again to come up with a finished solution to meet all of their requirements.  Having weekly Teams Meetings meant that the Renishaw team were kept fully informed throughout all design and manufacture and it was a pleasure to host those meetings and catch up with the team. We look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with Renishaw in the future’
